چکیده
Abstract Background Genomic instability is a hallmark of various cancers, and DNA repair an essential process for maintaining genomic integrity. Mammalian cells have developed mechanisms in response to damage. Compared the cellular damage, vivo damage (DDR) specific tissues has not been studied extensively. Objective In this study, mice were exposed whole-body gamma (γ)-irradiation evaluate DDR tissues. We treated male C57BL6/J with γ-irradiation at different doses, protein levels analyzed. Results The level gamma-H2A histone family member X (γH2AX) increased most organs after exposure γ-irradiation. particular, liver, lung, kidney showed higher γH2AX induction upon compared that brain, muscle, testis RAD51 was highly expressed testis, irrespective irradiation. proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) ubiquitinated PCNA lung irradiation, suggesting post-replication may mainly operate lungs Conclusion These results suggest each tissue preferable mechanism Therefore, understanding application tissue-specific responses could improve clinical approach radiotherapy treating cancers.

evaluation of radio-protective effect of melatonin on whole body irradiation induced liver tissue damage
objective: ionizing radiation interacts with biological systems to induce excessive fluxes of free radicals that attack various cellular components. melatonin has been shown to be a direct free radical scavenger and indirect antioxidant via its stimulatory actions on the antioxidant system.the aim of this study was to evaluate the antioxidant role of melatonin against radiation-induced oxidativ...
متن کاملDNA-damage response in tissue-specific and cancer stem cells.
Recent studies have shown that tissue-specific stem cells (SCs) found throughout the body respond differentially to DNA damage. In this review, we will discuss how different SC populations sense and functionally respond to DNA damage, identify various common and distinct mechanisms utilized by tissue-specific SCs to address DNA damage, and describe how these mechanisms can impact SC genomic int...

I am feeling somewhat like an outsider as I have to start from quite a different point of view than my colleagues, but I hope that 1 will be in touch with the general topic at the end. The reaction of bone marrow to irradiation has been investigated ov...
متن کاملRheological properties of blood after whole body gamma-irradiation
Background: The study of rheological properties of blood has special interest since it is a circulating fluid exposed to shear rates during its life time. This work aims to investigate the influence of whole body gamma irradiation on the rheological properties of rat’s blood. The applied shear rate was from 12 to 375 s-1. Low shear viscosity (up to 100 s-1) depends mainly on the erythroc...
